Top Interior Design Trends of 2024: How To Love Your Home Again In Time For Summer!

Innkeeping with your last blog, today we are steering away from kitchens and bathrooms and looking at all aspects of Interiors! As summer approaches, it’s the perfect time to refresh your home with the latest interior design trends of 2024. At Morpeth Kitchens and Interiors, we’re excited to share the hottest trends that will make your home stylish and welcoming without breaking the bank. Here are the top trends to look out for and budget-friendly tips to get your home summer-ready:

1. Biophilic Design

Bringing the outdoors in is a major trend this year. Incorporate natural elements like plants, wood, and stone to create a serene and refreshing environment. You can easily achieve this by adding potted plants, using wooden accessories, or incorporating natural textures in your decor.

2. Colorful Palettes

2024 is all about vibrant colors. Think bold blues, warm terracottas, and sunny yellows. You don’t need to repaint your entire home to embrace this trend. Start small by adding colorful throw pillows, rugs, or artwork to brighten up your space. Even the most common UK homeware stores have started to adopt this trend and you can pick up some beautiful pieces for less than the cost of a takeaway!!

3. Sustainable and Recycled Materials

Eco-friendly design is more important than ever. Opt for furniture and decor made from recycled or sustainable materials. Thrift stores, flea markets, and online marketplaces are great places to find unique, budget-friendly pieces that are both stylish and environmentally friendly. This also aids in making your space more YOU. We always say to embrace your character and reflect this within your home. Second hand art, sculptures and pre-loved furniture can make a HUGE statement, again – without breaking the bank!

4. Maximalism

Embrace the β€œmore is more” philosophy with maximalism. Layer patterns, mix textures, and display your favourite collections to create a vibrant and personalised space. This trend allows you to showcase your personality and makes your home feel unique and lived-in. For all that everyone wishes to make their house look like a show-home… Realistically, you want your space to feel lived-in and be somewhere you can enjoy without fear of β€˜doing too much’.

5. Smart Home Integration

Integrate smart technology to make your home more efficient and convenient. Smart lighting, thermostats, and voice-activated assistants can be affordable upgrades that add modern functionality to your home. Bonus tip – Amazon Alexa and Google Home are amazing tools that are very affordable to integrate.

Ready to adapt these trends? Here is a list of Budget-Friendly Tips to Get Your Home Summer Ready…

1. Declutter and Rearrange: Start by decluttering and rearranging your furniture. Sometimes, a new layout can make your space feel fresh and new without any cost.

2. DIY Decor: Get creative with DIY projects. From painting old furniture to crafting your own wall art, there are countless ways to update your decor on a budget.

3. Seasonal Accessories: Swap out heavy winter textiles for lighter, summer-friendly options. Look for sales or discount stores to find affordable accessories like cushions, throws, and curtains in bright, seasonal colours.

4. Upcycle and Repurpose: Before buying new, consider upcycling or repurposing items you already have. An old ladder can become a trendy plant stand, or mason jars can be transformed into stylish storage solutions. Even little things… You know those cartons that you get from the takeaway? Once cleaned, they make for amazing meal preparation containers that will save you space in the fridge!

5. Consult the Experts: At Morpeth Kitchens and Interiors, we offer FREE design consultations to help you achieve your dream look. Our experts can provide personalised advice and creative solutions that fit your budget.
